Privacy Policy for Nearboard
Last updated: 23 June 2026
Nearboard is a hyperlocal notice board app that lets you view and create posts in your local area. This privacy policy describes what information we collect and how it is used.
Information we collect
- Device identifier: We generate an anonymous, random ID for your device in order to display your own posts and enforce our community guidelines. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information.
- Location: The app uses your GPS position to show nearby posts and to attach a location to posts you create. Your precise location is not stored — only the coordinates of the post you create.
- Posts and images: Text and images you submit are stored on our servers and are visible to other users in your local area. Posts are automatically deleted after they expire (typically after 14 days).
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information. There are no user accounts in Nearboard.
Sharing of information
We do not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. Posts are automatically moderated by AI (OpenRouter) to ensure compliance with our community guidelines.
Retention and deletion
Posts are automatically deleted when they expire. You can delete your own posts at any time from within the app.
